Westside Baptist Church ~ Pacifica, CA

Last week I was with my dear friend, Pastor David Owens, who pastors the Westside Baptist Church in Pacifica California. We had a great missions conference and I always enjoy fellowshipping with the people of this church. 

During the mission conference, on Friday night, we went to the San Francisco Mission. I was very excited to be able to preach on that Friday night. We had over 80 people attend and 12 people raise their hand for salvation. Not only did Pastor David Owens and his people want to reach those around the world but show their passion for reaching those in their area.

Please pray for Pastor David Owens youngest son, Bro. Sam Owens and his family as they are preparing to go to country of Georgia.  They will be taking a survey trip later this year. God has called them to reach these people and they are preparing Bibles, tracts and other Christian materials to be used in the country of Georgia. Please pray because it is very difficult to get Georgian Bibles at this time and the ones we've found are very expensive. I am praying and hoping to go with them when they go on their survey trip.  Here's a picture of Bro. Sam and his family.

The next few weeks will be very busy for me as I will be traveling to the state of Georgia, then to New York and finishing up in Montana within 14 days. These are exciting days and God is at work.  We need to continue to serve the Lord.

I have four missions trips planned for this year.   Would you please continue to pray for my wife and I as we serve the Lord.

Grace Baptist Church

This past week, March 16^-20, I was with Pastor Charles Hamilton and Grace Baptist Church. What a tremendous time we had in their mission’s conference. The missionaries there were such a great blessing. It was a real blessing to me personally to see young families going to the mission’s field. The people of the church were so friendly and boy could they cook. I want to thank Pastor Hamilton and his church for having me come.

Mission Month

 

On March 5^th I had the privilege of preaching in my home church, Longview Baptist Temple, for Pastor Bob Gray II. The whole month of February was Missions Month and I was asked to preach their last missions service.  What a great missions program we have and we were able to increase our missions giving.

On March 6^th I was able to speak to our college classes. Texas Baptist College has their students take a mission’s trip in January every year and the young people really get involved in this opportunity.  They went to Haiti, Philippines, Panama and South Africa this year.  What an exciting time to spend with these students.  I was able to preach college chapel that day as well. God worked in many of the hearts of the young people.

Panama Trip

 

I just returned home from a missions trip to Panama.  I went with a group of young people from our Bible college, Texas Baptist College.  There were four groups that went to different countries:  Panama, Haiti, Africa and the Philippines.  How exciting it is to see our young people go with anticipation of what God will do.  

 

The group I was with went to several cities and mountain villages where we presented the Gospel to groups of people through soul winning and did some preaching.   The people were very kind and open to the Gospel.

 

 

We went to a village church and held a service among the Indians and saw people saved. The next day we went back to follow up in the same village.  As we went, there was a pick-up full of people who were waiting for their way back into the mountains. We asked the driver if he would wait so we could give the riders the plan of salvation. He agreed and, Juan, our Spanish speaker gave the plan of salvation to 21 people.  All but a few trusted Christ as their Saviour. 

There was a young man on the truck who had attended the service the night before and got saved. He was on the truck and watched Juan give the plan of salvation to the others. He came over to Juan and I afterwards and ask for some of the Book of Romans that we were giving out to the people. The Book of Romans had a very clear picture story of salvation in the front of it.   He said I want a lot of this Book of Romans to take back to my village and I think I can share the plan of salvation with them. He was very  excited about others learning for sure they could go to Heaven. I wish all new converts would be that excited about sharing the Gospel.

We traveled and passed out over 3,000 John and Romans and had 505 people saved.  A new church is beginning this February. Please pray for this national pastor as he moves his family back in the mountains to be with these people.

Missions Update – January 2013

Dear Pastors and Friends

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are off to a great New Year!  The year, 2012, was such a great year for us and our ministry.

We were involved in helping start six brand new churches. It’s always exciting to see God at work in different countries and seeing the results of soul winning grow into a new church. We also were able to take some missions trips and had several mission conferences with God working in the hearts of many people. We had thousands of people saved on these trips, and I was able to help baptize people.

One special blessing of 2012 was that in a missions conference, I preached a sermon on Holding the Rope and asked others to hold the rope for myself and other missionaries. Many times I am the one on the far end of the rope. I was to go on a trip to The Dominican Republic and we prayed and prepared for a big weekend. Then Hurricane Sandy, came and I was not able to go. We didn’t let that stop us.  Instead, we helped rent buses and bought Bibles for the missionary so that he could continue with what was planned. They had their big Sunday service and had 1,625 in attendance, 721 saved and 104 baptized. I was on the other end holding the rope. It was such a great feeling, and now I know how many of you feel.

We feel that God has led us to move our ministry to Longview Baptist Temple in Longview, Texas.  Dr. Bob Gray, II’s vision for missions will help enable us more in our growing ministry because of the many doors God has opened. Our first trip, I will help in taking a group of college students from Texas Baptist College to Panama. We have so much to do and need your prayers and help to accomplish it all.

Moving to Texas!

Please pray for us this week as we are moving to Longview, Texas.  

We will be joining the Longview Baptist Temple pastored by Dr. Bob Gray II.  This is a busy week as you can imagine and it will take us a few days to travel.  I will post our new information in a few days.

Dominican Republic Trip

We had been planning a Mission’s week in the Dominican Republic at the end of the month with Missionary Steve Sidler. The day I was to leave Hurricane Sandy took off and I wasn’t able to go because of my flight being cancelled.  I was very disappointed but God had a plan and was going to work in a great way. Before the conference we had helped to rent buses and buy Bibles for the people that would be there on that Sunday.

Praise the Lord, they had 1,651 people come with 726 of them saved and 104 people baptized.

I always enjoy seeing how God works when we can't figure it out. God knew what was ahead and blessed in a mighty way!

 

Twin City Baptist Church ~ Brewer, Maine

This past week I was with Pastor Patrick Heuveline and the Twin City Baptist Church in Brewer, Maine.  I've know the Heuveline's for many years and it's always good to visit their church.

 

What I love about this church is that it has a great desire for missions.  We had a very good service Sunday morning with a young man walking the aisle for salvation (pictured below).  He was so excited to get saved and is going to be baptized next week.  

 

This church has great families that love the Lord.  They out did themselves with an international dinner after the service.  What a great time I had with the Twin City Baptist Church.

Faith Baptist Church ~ Carver, Maine

I always look forward to being with Pastor Shaun Weeks and the Faith Baptist Church in Carver, Maine.  Each time I am there I have a great time of fellowship with these dear people. 

Pastor Weeks has such a burden for the New England States and the young people from that area. God did a great work through their mission’s weekend.

September 23rd ~ Faith Baptist Church ~ Berne, IN

On Sunday, September 23, 2012, I had the opportunity to preach for Pastor Combest and Faith Baptist Church in Berne, Indiana.  What a great church of dedicated and faithful people! 

Pastor Combest and two of his sons took me out for some awesome pizza and we had a great time of fellowship while out. The Sunday services were very exciting and people were saved.  I was amazed at the great job they were doing in their area. 

Please pray for Pastor Combest as he is recovering from heart surgery!

Northern Lights Baptist Church ~ Anchorage, AK

Praise the Lord for another meeting!  

Just a few days after I got back from the Philippines, I flew to Anchorage, AK  to be with Pastor Clark and Northern Lights Baptist Church. I was able to preach in their Bible Institute and what a great time I had with those students who have a desire to serve the Lord.

I  preached their missions conference and they had an increase in their Faith Promise Giving. I really enjoyed their missions videos and seeing how the Lord is working in other countries of the world.  Each time I see these countries I want to volunteer to go!  

We also had a 100 mile hour rainstorm on Sunday morning and many of the streets were blocked.  God still gave us a great service. We had people saved and baptized in the services. They had International Sunday and there were over 40 different nationalities in attendance.

  

Soulwinning

I have to admit that my trips to the Philippines always go so quickly.  I love having time to see my son and his family.  The grandkids grow up so quickly and it's always fun to spend quality time with them.

We went out soul winning through out our trip there.  We were able to print and pass out over 25,000 tracts and 100 Bibles.  We had 4,234 people saved on this trip.  I personally baptized 26 people.  

What a great trip!  To God be the Glory!

Public School Ministry in the Philippines

One of the highlights of my trips to the Philippines is going into the public schools and being able to give the plan of salvation.  I am always amazed at how open the teachers and young people are.   On September 3-5,  we were able to teach and preach  in the public schools.  The Lord blessed in a great way and we saw 2,737 people trust Jesus as their Saviour.

25th Anniversary of Gospel Baptist Church, Calinog, Philippines

On August 27th,  I flew to the Philippines with a good friend, Ronnie Howell.  We went to be a part of the 25th anniversary of Gospel Baptist Church in Calinog with my son, Missionary Sam Heidenreich.  This was the church that I started back in 1987.

On Sunday, September 2nd, we had a great day.   The Lord gave us 1,477 people in attendance with 360 visitors and 332 were saved.

Trip to Panama

The very end of July into the first week of August I went to Panama  It was pouring down rain when we landed in the city of David. We got there just in time to go soul winning and we had five people saved that Saturday. We had to use the interrupters but had a great time witnessing to these dear people.

Sunday morning the church had two services so Pastor Charles Carver and I rotated teaching and preaching. We spoke seven times between the two of us. We had over 40 people saved and 15 baptized.

We then had the Old Paths Conference Monday through Wednesday. My son-in-law, Evangelist Allen Domelle, was there along with Bro Rick Stults and Pastor Charles Hamilton. I was able to teach and preach every night. I want to thank all of you for praying for us while we were there.

Please continue to pray as I  am preaching in two different churches this weekend.  Also pray for my upcoming trip to the Philippines on August 27^th.

Winning Souls

One of the greatest blessings of the ministry is being able to serve the Lord with your family.

This past week I was able to go soul winning with my daughter, Sandy (Domelle), and my granddaughter, Caitlyn.  We had a great time out and were able to win a lady to the Lord.  

Continue to pray for our health and safety as we are traveling many miles the next few weeks.

More Traveling!

I was home just a few days and left to preach for Pastor Johnson in Virginia.  This is always a special church for me to visit because my grand children attend there. It just seems that there isn’t enough time in the day to accomplish everything. We had a great service and the people have such a heart for missions.

Please continue to pray for as we have a busy month ahead.  At the end of the month I will be headed to Panama.

Hillside Baptist Church in Hixson, TN

We have been very busy in the last few weeks and traveled hundreds of miles for different meetings.  God has been so good to us in our travels with keeping us safe and well.  

I just finished a great meeting with Pastor Cape in Hixson TN. They started the meeting off with the men’s horseshoe tournament. It was good to see so many men turn out and have a great time. We had exciting services and enjoyed skyping missionaries every night of the services. One of the highlights was that the Lord helped the people of this church to increase their Faith Promise. Heaven’s resources are still available for the saving of souls.

Wednesday morning we went soul winning and had four people trust Jesus as their Saviour. I asked to go out with one their bus captain and we went by a house where a young man had cancer. I was able to talk to him and his wife, before we left they received Jesus as their Saviour.

On the last night of  the meeting a dear friend of mine came to visit the church while I was there. I met, Eric Bowman, over twenty years ago who was then a teenager and had surrendered his life to be a missionary to Africa. He has spent many years in Africa and now is working as a director with BIMI.

I enjoy each and every meeting the Lord has for me and seeing the people get a new commitment for their missionaries in their giving, communication and prayer.  It stirs my heart to keep helping our missionaries all across the world and our churches to keep their Faith Promise coming in.
