Lighthouse Baptist Church ~ Leighton, PA

This past week I have been at a Missions Conference with Pastor Wolverton and the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Leighton, PA.  On the flight there, I was able to share the Gospel with a few different people from Bangladesh, Egypt, and Paraguay.

One of the  Missionaries in the conference was Dan Gardner, a missionary to Japan. He was the first missionary I met 36 years ago. Our family support him for twenty years. What a faithful man and blessing to hear of God's blessings in his work in Japan.  Here is a picture of Bro. Gardner and myself:

Pastor Wolverton and Lighthouse Baptist Church were planning to break their record attendance of 377. The church prayed, worked hard, went soul winning and on Faith Promise Sunday they had 467 people come.  What an exciting Sunday to be a part of.

The church also broke their record in their Faith Promise Giving! I like it when a church has a Mission's Revival! I want to thank all of those people for their hard work and faith in God!

Prayers

Please continue to pray for my health. I have been traveling heavily over the last four months overseas and around America.  I've picked something up that has me not feeling the best and a little weak.  I am struggling with Vertigo.  The doctors haven’t been able to figure out what else is wrong yet.   I'm just trying to keep up the pace.

Today I had the privilege to preach in our high school chapel at my home church Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church. I always enjoy preaching and spending time with our young people.

April 11-15th, 2012

After seeing the doctor and having more blood work done I flew into the San Francisco area to be with Pastor David Owens and Westside Baptist Church.
I have been on missions trips with Pastor Owens and his family and what a great blessing they always are.  We had a great time with his people and really enjoyed the fellowship. His son,  David Owens, who is a missionary in Guyana was there for one service with his family. I have been to visit his work several times and have enjoyed preaching for him in Guyana.  The mission’s conference was a great success and their faith promise was increased.

One of the things I appreciate about Pastor David Owens is that he has a few of his children on the mission field.  He has a son, Jonathan, that is a missionary in Bulgaria, a son, David, that is a missionary in Guyana, and a son, Nathan, in Cameroon, Africa as a missionary.  Their youngest son, Samuel, just got married and he plans to go to the mission field as well.  The Owen's have a great love for missions!

Home A Few Days

I had a doctor's appointment today and would like all of you prayers. With all the traveling I've done recently and being overseas I am not feeling 100%.  The doctor told me I have Vertigo and also took blood to check a few other things.  Pray it's nothing serious and easy to fix quickly!

First Baptist Church, Dayton, Ohio

I flew to Dayton, Ohio to be with Pastor Rick Carr and the First Baptist Church. I always enjoy the spirit of Pastor Carr.

I really enjoyed the music and presentations of the missionaries that were there for the conference.  There was an excitement with the people each night.   The church was able to increase their faith promise which is always is a help in getting more missionaries to the field.  There were people saved and baptized during the conference. I always look forward to being with this church.

Freedom Baptist Church

My meeting this past week was with Pastor Worley and the Freedom Baptist Church in North Carolina.  I always enjoy being with the people of this church. What a hard working bunch of people who are great at fellowshipping after the church services each night. I enjoy getting to know their people.

This church has a heart for missions and it can be seen everywhere.  We had a great response to faith promise during the week and had people  baptized during the conference.

What a blessing it was to be with this church.
